Lime aid, star fruit, ruby grapefruit ~ lots of acidity yet a hint of oranjulius creaminess underneath

I haven’t had a Chilean white in some time. I want to like it more than I did-it’s well made, offering mid palate richness & some complexity, with a lively green, unripe fruited palate. It’s that fruit, though, that doesn’t agree with my palate- it’s so.... green, & it really stands out. This would make a really interesting pairing with veal pacata, or an asparagus dish. Still, over delivers & a serious QPR. I could imagine someone who likes this kind of fruit rating it higher

It is Friday night the start of the weekend and I have opened the 2019 Laberinto Estate Sauvignon Blanc from the Maule Valley Chile.

On the nose I can find notes of lime, guava, peach, musk melon, herbs, minerals and crushed wet gravel.

On the palate there is lemon/lime, passionfruit, guava, herbs, spice and nice minerality.

This wine is medium bodied with medium acidity and leads to a medium to medium + citrus finish. A nice everyday sauvignon blanc but has a bit to be desired. I wish everyone a wonderful weekend, so please safe and stay healthy. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂

Super bold SB, akin to one from NZ, but very good.
