Top Notes For
Sipping Fine Wine

Blend of 70% Picotendro (local Nebbiolo), Neyret, Cornalin & Fumin, Ruby with aromas lively fruit, floral and spice. On the palate flavors of red berry fruits with earthy herb spice. Medium finish, fine tannins, generous acidity ending with fruit and spice.

I usually don’t give points because let’s face it, points are bullshit but given the shade here I feel the need to adjust. This wine has much bang for the buck and definitely speaks to place. When I first put my nose in the glass I thought this was alpine wine. It is. And that’s how it tastes. And it is really tasty. Crunchy red fruit but soft and easy drinking with nice alpine green and spice. Solid. Don’t trust the haters.

A blend of Picotendro, which is basically Nebbiolo and three other local indigenous varietals that I have no experience with. A touch awkward on the pop and pour, coming across a bit too green for my taste. Day 3 was better but still very simple. Under-ripened crunchy red fruits with an almost carbonic quality to it. Some pepper and herbs. It paired well with our lasagna but was difficult to enjoy on its own unless it was as an aperitif on a warm sunny day in which it would be a quaffer for sure. Fun wine though and super authentic so I can dig it.

This is terrific. Majority picotendro, the local clone of Nebbiolo, along with 3 local grapes I’ve never heard of. An earlier review listed them, if you’re curious. This is an alpine Nebbiolo. Light, slightly sour cherry/ raspberry with a wee bit of earthiness. A mouthful of flavor. Tannins are there but integrated pretty well. Will buy this again. Think it was @$18!

Beautiful wine, hits so very many notes from cherry to chocolate to licorice to rose. A little leather showed up adding to the complexity.

70% Picotendro (local Nebbiolo clone), 30% Gros Vien, Neyret, Cornalin and Fumin. Light, 13%, nice spicy fruit with a little bitterness on the end. Not tannic whatsoever. Very interesting wine.
