I love Clare Valley wines. They are better known for Cabs but this is a noice meaty red with plenty going on, could do with some of that classic Shiraz pepper just to bring it up indu the 9s.

flavours of dark cherries, fresh licorice and subtle smoky oak. layers of chocolate and cedary overtones. balanced tannins and tarriness in finish.

A big wine no doubt. That said, I think I may have just liked it... One more bottle ordered to make sure ;-)

This was impressive - scored on closeout for $16: jet black, absolutely no signs of age, soaring aromas just oozing black fruit, licorice, bittersweet chocolate, exotic spice, dash of white pepper, and so much more. I know this producer as making wine in cooler climates, but this didn’t have that hi-toned fruit I was hoping for… huge extraction, massive & mouth filling, this was not so much chewy as just densely flavored with long life ahead.
