Initially it l tasted like it was at its peak. Then had with garlic and butter seared scallops and it came alive. Richness and density dove in from it's soul...

Burgundian style Sonoma Pinot Noir with unusual balance and restraint. Showing true varietal characteristics and avoiding (thankfully) jammy fruit and over extraction. I wish more Cali Pinot were made this way.

Amazingly fresh and vibrant. Decanted and finished the bottle over dinner. It was still picking up steam after the last sip two hours later. Lovely wine.

Strawberry and figs shine through in an enveloping manner rather than overtly, with a lovely balance of good acid and body. I tasted this 1997 vintage blind and swore it was Old World but after it breathed for 30 minutes the finish was decidedly more bright on the fruit than a Burgundy. Nicely made.
