Les Amoureuses Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Soft and faded at the edges. Pretty, delicate cherry, some drying notes. Hints of tea at the edges but persistent pure light aged fruit in the midpalate. Haunting. Lovely and composed.

Pure and clear. Cherry and plum. Light floral notes. Great balance and length.

Although still youthful, Drouhin’s 2013 Amoureuses has much to love now. It stuns with its aromatics and mesmerizing perfumed bouquet of high toned red fruit, purple flowers, black tea and top soil. The palate is still needing time to come together and find its seamlessness and generosity, but it shows lovely purity, vibrancy and really exceptional length. Bright future.

Fantastic condition for 30+ years, tertiary character developing, great aromatics and texture. Constantly evolving alluring mature burgundy.

Is there a better vintage over the past 30 years or so in Burgundy than these gorgeous '99s???Drouhin, always amongst the finest, most consistent of the top echelon of negociants in Beaune, has produced a classic Chambolle from my favorite site that in a magnum was still very youthful--FORMIDABLE!
