Jayer-Gilles
Côte de Nuits Villages Pinot Noir
Just concluded our annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
Nose has cedar box, ripe black cherry, wet soil, prune and decaying leaves.
Palate has dried cherry, dried blackberry, ripe cherry, wet leather with some grip of tannins lingering.
Just a delightful village-level bottle from a storied production team.

Feb 24th, 2014Garnet in color; musky, earthy nose on opening, cherry and smoke coming up later; very primary on palate with plum and it’s still tannic spine predominating.
