It's not demure. Vibrant gold in the glass with an impeccable mousse. The nose is intense and admittedly a challenge to describe. Lemon zest, candied orange peel. Lemon tart or lemon curd. A sneaky high note of menthol and I swear just slightly, pleasantly oxidized. On the palate tart apple, pear but mostly the verve of it hits you. Salinity, crushed shell and minerality. It's incredibly lush and at the same time, focused. Subtle note of almond paste on fine, long finish. Wow.

Selosse's wines always show better with post-disgorgement age. This bottle was disgorged in 2010, and it's really starting to pick up steam now.

It got better as the night progressed, always a sign of amazing champagne. Left it in the glass and as it opened up and got down to room temperature it got better and better.

This hit it hard tonight. Rich and "Selossy" but super tense and focused at the same time. In a perfect place drink ability wise. Brioche, hazelnut, green apple, lemon. #great

An unbelievable, creamy, light yet long aged champagne produced from grand crus without sugar! A real innovator and specialist producer doing his own thing!

2011 disgorgement . Very saline, tidal pool nose. Tight and strong, mini gravel, old piny wood. Big, expansive, long. Dominating finish. Really good. Very much like champagne no matter what they say.
