From steep sloping Hidden Ridge Vineyard. Mostly Cabernet with Petite Verdot (2.5%) blended in. Dark ruby color. Aromas of dark bramble berry fruit with hints of coffee, lavender and sweet spices. The expressive palate is full of black berry/plum and blueberry fruit with additional notes of tobacco, black tea, and dark coffee. Pleasant sweet spicy/oaky and very long finish. Dense, complex, rich and extremely well balanced. Part of the North Shore House (Paired with a fig dessert) Wine Pairing Dinner on March 9, 2024.

Celebrating a birthday tonight at an Indian restaurant. Excellent wine! Holding up well and tasting great! Hoping I have more. (Edit): I just noticed that we celebrated this birthday 3 years ago with the same wine…what are the chances??

Figured “Immortal” fit for Halloween. 🎃 Inky, dark ruby in color with a layered nose of blackberry, plum, herbs, clay pot, and Asian five spice. On the palate it’s rich and decadent. Full-bodied with well integrated tannins. A little of this wine goes a long way. The finish lingers on and on. This is a BIG wine that does not hold back. It overdelivers at its price point. About the same price as Caymus, yet brings so much more to the table.

Nov 1st, 2022Color is deep ruby and brick with a nose of black currants, prunes, and vanilla. It also includes herbal notes of oregano and maybe green peppercorns. I also pick up dusty notes. Great fruit on this wine with well integrated tannins and flavors pumping through the long, impressive finish. This is a really good wine.
