I Vigneri di Salvo Foti
Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese Nerello Cappuccio
Etna, Catania, Sicily, Italy
Clean cherry and dark fruit. Ash and soft mineral. Good acidic vein. Gripping tannins. Would like to revisit this with a few more years under the belt.

Deep, concentrated, and a touch raw. It's a big 'un but with plenty of verve.

Man, have had some more recent bottles of the entry level I Vigneri Rosso and haven’t been blown away, but this one from the above average warm 2012 vintage seems to be hitting its stride, especially from magnum @Ted Corvey - Etna Cherries giving away to tobacco and lava rock with firm tannins and just enough acid to give this wine a memorable finish with quite the persistence. Only problem was I had to share it with 7 others.
