I Vigneri di Salvo Foti
Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese Nerello Cappuccio
Light, spicy, intoxicating aromas: fruit pastry, fruit taffy, berry and confectionary nose, followed by a completely indulgent palate with loads of acid, spice and a wonderful echo of sweetness. Foti is the master.

Jul 3rd, 2021This just oozes elegance. Nose of high altitude (cool) red berries, leading into floral fruit and elegant earthiness, cherry lipstick/liqueur, laced with finely crushed volcanic rocks. So much energy on the palate; all the elements are deftly balanced.

Jun 25th, 2020Very enjoyable and quaffable. Not quite life changing like the hype suggests. Pinot-like structure with some volcanic mineral energy. Maybe I should’ve given it some time in the cellar but it didn’t seem like tannins were obscuring more depth.

Jul 10th, 2018Lighter and softer than expected, but so beautifully floral and aromatic.

Feb 4th, 2018Lovely black fruit and volcanic minerality, and lithe enough to pair perfectly with whole fried sea bass over couscous with spicy tomato sauce.
