Truly “classic” in every way. Gorgeous (if you like gewurz)

I love the basic Hugel style Gewurz. A little drier than the Alsace norm, but so fragrant and the fruit balances the bitter notes. Always a good value.

January Wednesday Wine Committees are always a great as the red wines are required to be 11yrs old, making all of the reds 2008 vintage. 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine were served today, all blind.
This was a very solid gewürztraminer that came across fairly light. Acidity didn’t show until the very end. Light and crisp. Not much lychee notes, but it had that orange blossom, baked apple pie and sweet tropical stone fruit notes that I expect.

Pale yellow. Orange blossom, citrus fruit, medium sweetness. Short finish.

Enjoyed 2013 vintage in July 2017. On the nose, 🍍 and alcohol. On the palate, medium sweetness with slight, but not unpleasant, bitterness at the very end. Long finish. $10.60CAD. I would certainly buy this 🍷 again.

Pale greenish yellow. Sweet fruity aroma and taste with lychee, peach, flower. Good paring with spicy food. 19 @3960, AD, 240506

Medium straw color. Aromas of lemon zest, white flowers, dried rose petals (faint) and slate. Palate is full of tropical fruit, unripe peach, pear, melon and ginger. A touch of RS but lovely acidity to balance it. Medium finish, body and alcohol. Great mouthfeel. Easy drinker. Aging beautifully! Thanks for sharing this one, Kevin Z.

traminer… what to add? it can naturally fluctuate from dry to semi sweet… this one is a classic alsace from hugel. for me a bit too sweet.
but… that’s all about complaining. lychee, pineapple, minerals, pear, melon and peach. good stuff.
