Vintage 2018 / pleasant red from Portugal / at Claire Culinair / with Beef and Asparagus

This surprised the heck out of me. It shouldn’t have because I know what a steal Portugal is but this is delicious for some grilled vegetables and pork on a Thursday night.

Nice. It's a typical table wine. But it has a leather nose. And that is enough.

A nice middle of the road Portuguese red - not heavy, fits in just right. Good bouquet and ever so slightly jammy to round out a good glass.

Simple, some decent fruit, but very inexpensive. A weekday wine you wouldn't sweat cracking.
