The smell, the colour, the balance of the fruit on the front palate and then the lingering complexity make this a brilliant wine. At $60 a bottle it’s not one for everyday but It still represents amazing value at that price point.

Lush and open in that inviting Aussie way, but still more serious than most of its counterparts. Damson plum, kirsch, some fennel and freshly picked blueberry. It’s got length and depth and those cashmere tannins

Nothing like drinking Henschke in Australia. Haven’t had this wine, predominantly Grenache, about 5% shiraz. Really inexpensive (about 50 au dollars). Absolutely fantastic and the reason I love Henschke wines, amazing combination of tobacco strawberries, licorice and plum but really juicy and not-oily or overdone. I used to think McPrice Myers beautiful earth was the best wine for the money but this has it beat. Just brilliant.
