This is a superb NV Champagne, really quite dry, with flavours of butterscotch, shortbread, lemon pith, white grapefruit, all cut along a savoury and chalky profile with firm acidity, great texture and satisfying length. For a house wine, this is a real success.

Henriot often flies under the radar and I get it, there are so many options out there...but don’t sleep on this house. This, their most modest offering, delivers immense pleasure for the price. A near 50/50 blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (I guess they use 5% Pinot Meunier) the Brut Souverain displays well ripened pears, lightly roasted nuts, slightly burned brioche and a kiss of citrus. The texture is rich and creamy. The finish is long and satisfying. No disgorgement data. While there is a code on the back, I was social and wasn’t going to give myself the brain damage to decode that mess.

Yeasty and vanilla on the nose, crisp apple, tart lemon. Very fresh. Felt like a Champagne night and this is a good one to just PnP.

Christmas dinner at friends. Getting it started with bubbles. Merry Christmas 🎄🦌⛄️🎁🎅🤶❄️🍾
Lemon meringue, grapefruit with pith, lime zest, bruised apple & pear, some apple jolly rancher, pineapple juice, cream, butterscotch, beautiful, soft, volcanic minerality, yeast, bread dough, sea spray, round, lively acidity and juicy, polished finish. From Magnum.

We're entertaining my in-laws and parents today, fun 🤷♂️. Bottles go fast when you're pouring for six glasses.
Toasty brioche, lemon curd lite, fresh pear, wet chalk, nice balance. Disgorged: Mar 2017

Aug 15th, 2019I am a fan of this NV champagne. Because it is still family owned, this is highly recommended instead of NV Moet or Cliquot. It also out performs those wines while remaining in the same price point. Buttery & hazelnut on the nose with complex notes of brioche & pear on the palette with enjoyable acidity. Drink now or hold for a couple years. Great QPR!
