Not as good as past bottles, but still a beautiful wine.

The last time I had one of these was at a Wine Nerd Heard event when we side a vertical tasting of the 70,74 & 85. The 05 was so good that we killed 2 bottles 🙌👏👏🙌

Rough night drinking 68ers with the boys!

From a magnum...for a '90 there seems to be no color progression on it at all, even at the edges. There is a minty, herbaceous note to it but it has great blackberry flavors and nice firm tannins on the finish. Really incredible how well this is holding up and an outstanding expression of Napa Valley Cab!

The classic eucalyptus/minty/menthol notes attack you on the nose. Still in decent shape. Very, very good. Such a treat.

This 73 now out drinks the famed legendary 74's! Off years sometimes outshine years that seemed to peak early and can develop more secondary flavors. This was beautiful for 2.5 hours and with fine sediments and no decanting. Richer the 77 Stags Lot 2 but Stags tad more elegant.

Black cherry, red plum, baking spices, Violet, and vanilla bean. A bit of umami that makes it smell rich and inviting. M acid and body. M tannin. Still a bit young. Long finish. Wonderfully balanced. Elegant and classy!
