A pretty and easy drinking Pinot that was enjoyed slightly chilled with salmon on a hot summer night.

2010, warm red fruit, scorched earth and even a touch bacon fat. Not bad for the twentyish bucks I spent on this at Safeway

With friends having wonderful conversation and drinking a nice Pinot from the Hitching Post Santa Rita Hills. Good strawberry, cherry, a nice smooth mouth feel, vanilla, and a balanced all around feel. Very good drinking.

Tasted single blind - Funky nose blows off. Cranberry, white pepper, and dried leaves. Dried red fruits, with medium tannin balanced by firm acidity. Cream mouthfeels speaks to French oak treatment. Linear in flavor with enjoyable structure.

This is a gorgeous wine made in what I'm tempted to call the Central Otago style - brimming with fruit but refreshing and medium bodied. Noticeably light in colour, a translucent ruby that shows its youth and vivacity, nose is proper Pinot. Not cheap at the lcbo but worth the splurge. Evidently 2014 was a very good vintage in California.

Amazing wine with beautiful earthy tones and a lovely touch of red fruit hanging on.
