Velvet Sisters Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Ruby with aromas of sweet ripe berry fruits with a touch of tea & oak, aged 16 months, 28% in new French oak. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with tobacco, oak and floral herb notes. Soft tannins, good balance on long finish ending with notes of herb, earth, fruit and sweet spice. Nice.

Sep 6th, 2022The ‘Velvet Sisters’ saw 16 months of 40% new French oak and is sourced from the Anderson Valley AVA. Needing time in the glass to develop, it slowly begins with a nice combination of citrus rind, red fruits and dark fruits all woven together in the glass. As the wine grabs some air, the wine takes on a darker fruit profile on the palate, still maintaining a citrus rind edge. Rich and decadent, yet restrained, this stunning wine will cellar well for the next fifteen to twenty years. Be sure to give this a two hour decant if enjoying in its youth. Drink 2018-2033- 94

Jan 16th, 2015Big, satiny, and typically ripe CA Pinot. Dried lavender, sage, and campfire smoke weave around the plush strawberry and Bing cherry fruit. Day three with no preservation and fruit has gone a touch sugary, but secondary flavors are solid and tannins are, in fact, velvety.

Dec 24th, 2023On PnP, quite a fruit bomb. With some air, this opens up into a typical earthy pinot. Quite nice.

Mar 19th, 2022Wine #2 of the night. Plush fruit has taken a back seat so softer fruit and earth tones. Still more than enough acidity to hold everything together but drink up!
