Red apples dipped in honey. Pleasant, balanced, and varietal. My main qualm is that it is kind of one noted.

Tonight I thought I would try a Pinot Gris. I didn't think I would really try one with all its commercial appeal and all. That being said I have come to find out that a well made Pinot Gris is not at all like the big commercial, mass produced Pinot Gris out there. This Pinot Gris has a beautiful nose full of tropical fruits, pineapple, peach, pear, and bubble gum. The palate is just as exciting with ripe apricots, peach, pear, Granny Smith apples, good minerality, flint, med + acidity, with a medium long finish. This is a well balanced wine and better than I expected.

Delicious #alsace #pinotgris - do yourself a favor and let this warm up a bit in the glass. Nose has lemon oil, marzipan, lanolin - bright acidity on the palate, white pepper at the very end.
