Enjoying some reprieve from the heat in Santa Fe today at Gruet Winery tasting room.
Still rose to start.
Pale pink salmon color. Bruised grapefruit skin aromas. A little pear. Tart black cherries, green strawberry, light acid but cleansing.

Tasted alongside 5 French champagnes. Stood out as the clear New World bubbly. Fruit forward without much complexity but nice acid/sweet balance and great expression of pinot fruit. Good price for performance
