Regarded as Grossets 2nd Riesling after Polish Hill but really a different style. This was fuller with more mid palate weight and less austere at this age than the PH - the latter generally being more long living. Lime juice with a little grape fruit on the palate - finishing very dry. This will last a few more years in the cellar, still with mouth puckering citric acid to finish off. Unfortunately this is my last bottle.

Really lovely. Full of zest and life. Held a beautiful profile in the palate for absolutely ages (even when we had finished dinner and the bottle and while watching Collingwood. And if there's anything to put a bad taste in your mouth it would be Collingwood Football Club).
I still believe, for my palate, that Watervale/Springvale Grosset Rieslings drink better young, while the Polish Hills are better with age.

Lemon in colour. See previous Delectable note. Paraffin notes developing. On the palate Barb thought white nectarine notes. Crisp and clean - a beautiful mature Riesling. My last bottle but it could have been left a few more years. Having said that it is hard to see it improving over the standard it is now. An earlier developing style than its sibling Cuvée, Polish Hill.

Brief notes. My first 2016. There are notes here from earlier vintages of Springvale. Dried white flowers - not a hint of TDN. The feature of this is the profound intensity on the palate. A ripe yet dry style. Will drink well through till the late 2020s.

Light yellow in colour. Aromatics of lime and lemon, also pear flesh and skins. Developing toasty notes. No TDN. I know I said a touch of kerosene on a previous note but not on this occasion. Palate is still taut and structured with a citric acid grip. Definitely in the top 3 Riesling producers in Australia.

Springvale is usually the less austere when compared to the Grosset Polish Hill. This is a pale lemon in colour. Touch of Kerosene amongst the white flower aromatics. Citrus on the light restrained palate with the acid which will propel this well past 10 years of age. Will be at its peak then similar to the 2011 Petaluma, another Clare Valley Riesling, I had recently.

Compared to the Alea bottling, this one is less multifaceted and has higher acidity. I’d like to throw this on the shelf for a few years. Beautiful lemon and tropical fruit with floral notes.

A little more approachable than the polish at the moment, being a little less austere. Very good.

Lean, crisp, very fruity, steely too
Easy drinking
Much better than lemonade in a hot day😜
It will age well too

M+ intensity. Green apple, peach, and lime. Bone dry. M+ acid. Great mouthfeel with lots of layers. A bit restrained.
