Polish Hill Clare Valley Riesling 2013

Aromas of lemon, lime, mineral and white flowers ( the white flowers from an orange tree) - with a touch of paraffin (TDN). The light to medium bodied palate has intensity. Grown organically in the Polish Hill district of the Clare Valley. Definitely in the top 3 Rieslings in Australia - such purity. — 15 days ago

Pewsey Vale Vineyard

1961 Block Single Vineyard Estate Eden Valley Riesling 2017

Family home for Christmas so these are brief notes. From a block of vines planted in 1961. A dry style but showing more fulsome flavours than the usual lime/lemon citrus. I actually enjoyed this as much as the Grosset Springvale. — 3 years ago

Springvale Clare Valley Riesling 2016

Regarded as Grossets 2nd Riesling after Polish Hill but really a different style. This was fuller with more mid palate weight and less austere at this age than the PH - the latter generally being more long living. Lime juice with a little grape fruit on the palate - finishing very dry. This will last a few more years in the cellar, still with mouth puckering citric acid to finish off. Unfortunately this is my last bottle. — 21 hours ago

Henschke

Peggy's Hill Eden Valley Riesling 2022

I believe this is my first time with a Henschke white. Intense citrusy nose along with florals and undertones of petro (nothing even close to a Grosset). A very zesty palate of some orchard fruit and plenty of acid. A moderate finish that I expect will extend once things better integrate. I assume like many Australian rieslings this will age , Is that a valid statement @Bob McDonald ? — a year ago

@Ira Schwartz Over the weekend I tasted the full range of Henschke cuvées with Stephen and Pru Henschke and a group of wine lovers. Julius is their top Riesling from the Eden Valley and then Peggy’s. Both could easily age 10 plus years. Some fruit for Peggy’s is sourced from other growers. Eden Valley (home of Hill of Grace and Mount Edelstone) is one of the best districts for Riesling in Australia.
