Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese

This stuff has catapulted to my list of top 5 favourite varietals. It has such a nice weight in the mouth, long finish, great minerality. Not too heavy, not too light. Such a treat.

this NEEDED an hour to start coming together ~ still tight, still part thin, but also part elegant ~ Mediterranean herbs & brush mixed w red berries ~ hints of Christmas mistletoe & cake coming through...

Elegant

Had at Le Farfalle in Charleston and went beautifully with everything from red sauce pasta to a pickled strawberry salad. Nice, clean acidity; the terroir really shines through.

alberto's 2014 has the perfect perfumed aromatics along with acidity. so elegant and structured. such value here!

Tannic, fruity Nerello, with cherry flavor and some leather and earth. Good, but not as good as others, and a little too young to drink.

Graci 2014 Etna Rosso, or as I call it Sicily's answer to Burgundy. Nice expression of the volcanic soil that is Etna. Bright acidity. Could use a little more time in bottle. Had with Roasted Chicken w Rapini and roasted sunchokes. This little bottle made that bird sing.

mineral. medium body. nice acid. dark fruit. from shawn's. buy again.

Medium bodied. Sour cherries, a little smoke, earthiness, mineral, tea. Lots of juicy acidity.
