2nd bottle. Gorgeously open. Plush and textured. Lush open fruit and some herbal notes under. Delicious

This is delicious. Dark and broad and rich. Dark fruit with black cherry, herbs, iodine, iron some hints of mocha. Inky and pure and delicious.

Tasted blind. Dark, purple scarlet and opaque in the glass. Notes of black fruit, dark earth and stone, spice, mocha and some volcanic ash kind of note. Nice and rich in the mouth. The volcanic ash note leads me to Cal Cab and I go with a 91 Diamond Creek Volcanic Hill guess. That’s happened before to me when blind tasting Gaja, although nobody else was in Italy with their guesses either. And maybe we're starting to get a bit polluted… 😏

Getting old. Still very good but the vibrancy is gone.

I admit it. I’m not a fan of Nebbiolo and my friend brought this as a special treat. It’s... good. For me it doesn’t hit that ethereal plateau it seems to for others. Enjoy.

95% Nebbiolo 5% Barbera. Muted nose 20 Minutes after decanting. Mid ruby in colour with a Tawny edge - like cold black tea. Scents of dried cherry and earthy notes finishing with dry savoury tannins. Everything in balance. Even though this Wine spent some time in French Oak Barriques that influence does not intrude - perfect balance. Very impressed - beautiful Wine.
