Served blind. Pretty impressive in the sense that its age was so well hidden underneath a pure blanket of reddish berries. Still aromatic. Wood is nicely integrated. Did lack some personality, though.

Sour cherry and tar, with thyme, rosemary and underlying broad fruit. Very sexy, but also some sour and Pepperiness. Still young- lovely.

1970 was apparently an off vintage for Barbaresco but there is so much joy in trying something that proves the approach of producer before vintage. This is ripe, faded raspberries, earth, leather, and walnuts. It's holding up well, but without improvement from here. A privilege to try.
