May 9th, 2019“M” standing for Monumental. Earthy, vegetal and very complex. A bit oily on the palate with notes of melon, baking spices, mango with a long finish

Jun 3rd, 2017Had it December 2008.
Golden thick yellow aspect, pear, citrus full on both mouth and nose, and super minerally. At the palate it is flowing down with great pleasure. Fatty, determined, sour tunes, battling with a bittery nutty side for an everlasting persistence.
I had never had anything like it.

Gruner ages well. This beauty opened up quickly, exhibiting notes a dill, white pepper, white peach, boiled limes. So much complexity. I've only scratched the surface of what this amazing wine offers.

Jun 30th, 2016After a slow and warm start the ice bucket came to the rescue and brought this back to fine form. Having this next to a few great Riesling really really highlights the differences that Gruner has from Riesling. More "green" with peas and basil mixed with the stone fruit and minerality.
