Jul 31st, 2017Incredibly floral nose. Tar, rose, lilac. Delicate mouthfeel with pronounced tannins and strong outline of acid. Raspberry jam. Fresh, well structured, excellent finish.

This leathery, perfumed Barbaresco was quite the match for mushroom tortellini! An hour in the decanter was not enough and the last glass was far better than the first.

The nose is incredible: roses, violets, bright red fruit, white pepper, soil. There is definitely a refined tannic structure, yet present with good acidity running down the sides of the mouth. The palate is similar to the nose with a bit more dry stoney earth dusting upfront and more red fruit on the back end. There’s life left in this bottle. I wish I had more.
