Very big & broad style. Tons of ripe fruit, high intensity, strong acid but it really needs time. At least 2-3 years. The mineral component shines through after some time in the glass. Powerful, long finish. I hope that this Hölle will not go in a even bigger direction after some years in the cellar.

Dry, obviously, but has a zippy citrus, poached pear, crushed stone, (shocker) high acidity that slightly fades, a floral, soapy aroma. Very lovely. Went well with shrimp and grits, acidity cut into the richness beautifully.

Spicy nose, hinting at Sur Maturée, offering grilled lemon and candied apricot aromas with something herbaceous in the background. Old school style, with ripe fruit verging on oxidative leaving the finish positively dry yet the lack of fruit allows the alcohol (13,5%) to shine through, even at this early stage. For fanatics of the style, it'll age effortlessly, but for me it's already late.

Always my favorite vineyard in Hochheim, and one of my favorite throughout the Rheingaus. Dainty elegance meat powerful structure. That power is a tell tale of the Hölle vineyard. White peach and lemon blossoms. Filigrain minerality. Nothing overpowering anything. All elements are in ballance.
