Very unique but unique doesn't always mean tasty. Supposed to get better as it opens but it didn't change for the better for me.

This one just minutes away from his vineyards, after a hard day of picking Nerello Mascalese for ourselves. Thirst indeed.

A turbulent deep rose color with substantial carbonation for a still wine. Aromatically it suggests pink flowers, fruits and peels, sweet cranberry, and something like the salty margin at the line of tide. The palate is lean, curious, and savory, with a spritzy texture and a bright steel finish. The vintage isn’t stated on the label; the 2013 was a blend of Nerello Mascalese, Malvasia, and Cattaratto. Unfiltered and un-sulfured; it throws a sediment. 13.5% abv (sample)

Less polarizing than usual, I could actually drink a glass or even two of this smoky rosé.

Even better than I remember from my last bottle, pure genius in a freakish way! Pure rose petals, blood orange, pink grapefruit #flowerpower
