I’ve enjoyed Frank’s wines in the past but this came off as nearly undrinkable. Tons and tons of Brett, very pronounced alcohol, stewy fruit and lacking any sense of balance. I guess it’s always a crapshoot when you vehemently oppose SO2.

Praying at the altar before my book edits are due back once more. Hot cherries, peaches and salty dust on the nose. Clean with surprising tannic structure, the palate is of red currants, strawberry, tobacco, and fine volcanic sand.

This wine makes an immediate impression.
Plush, fruity, with some real smoke. The contrast between the sweetness and smokiness is distinctive.

Dark cherries, refreshing acidity, earthy minerality and an almost vibrating mouthfeel. All of the Cornelissen cornerstones in his today very clean style. A lot lighter version from this cold vintage. Perfect summer wine.
