Pianezzo Dolcetto di Dogliani

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2022 pours, a deep, ruby/purple color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with a mix of tart and ripe, mostly black with some blue fruits: black berries, plums, black licorice, Alpine herbs and purple flowers and dried earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium- tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finishes medium. Overall, this is an impressive Dogliani and I’d gladly take more of this in my life. Drink now.

2020 of this is no slouch

2019 is a step up from 2018. More precise, more blueberries, more length, more refreshing.

This is really solid but for 2 euros more the Vigna del Prey is a better QPR wine.

Nice chilled up for a summer BBQ red wine. Heavy blackberry flavor. I forgot I actually like Dolcetto. It’s good simple wine. 2016 vintage. 7/19/20

Fresh and snappy. Just ripe blackberries

Fresh, snappy, Loire Cab Franc like in its style. Love the balance and interplay of fresh picked dark berries and bitter herb.
