Fattoria Viticcio
Riserva Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend
In perfect form and magically delicious. Dark cherries and soft spice for days. Blackberries, plum. Dry top soil, crushed, dry rock, dry brush, sandalwood, withering red flowers, good acidity, nice evolution, integration and very good wire to wire finish that lasts two minutes.
$20- $25 on release if my memory hasn’t failed me. Another 3-5 years of good drinking.

Bright red cherry, earthy, elegant spice, but not as savory as id like it to be…not a terribly complex…

Jun 11th, 2023At 21 years, we've certainly shed the jammy plum, red berry and vanilla notes present in our last bottle 15-18 years ago. Dried plum, blackberry, mahogany, cocoa powder and moist clay pot, fill your nose. Dried plum, ripe blackberry, dried black cherry, tart plum skin and dry potting soil notes round out a medium length finish. Decanted 2H with continued improvement.
Certainly less interesting wines to drink on a Tuesday night, but why settle?

Sultry color. Nose has ripe, sweet cherry and vanilla. Some nice sun-warmed gravel underneath. Oak-derived tannins are prominent in the mouth, but not overwhelming. Fruit is low-key and low-toned in the mouth. Fair amount of oak and minerals. I’m not sure the fruit is vibrant enough to facilitate the aging that would allow the oak to more fully integrate. It’s good in its way, but not the style I usually seek out. (But it’s a gift from my brother and I’m thankful to be drinking it tonight!)

Jul 5th, 2021A really nice, aged Chianti with a nice earthy gravelly character. Some very dark, sweet cherry fruit on the nose as well. Soft and rich in the mouth, but with nice minerality and acidity. Very good length. Very “together” wine. Peaking.

Apr 23rd, 2018Pretty, boysenberry concentrate and espresso grounds, classy oak and aniseed. Strawberry rhubarb savvy, pomegranate crack, and clove - vaped, not smoked 🚬 , yo. Nice acid snap and just-astringent-enough tannin, soulful terroir suggestion and, generally, quite seductive. In short - yes, I will go home with you. #gameover
