Very tasty wine. — 6 years ago
Decanted two hours,
NOSE: dark berries, fresh herbs (mint and bright tobacco), a whiff of mocha. Mild, but pretty darn good.
TASTE: lovely. Cocoa plus both savoury and baking herbs - not much fruit. Like a lighter and more elegant Rioja. 91.
EDIT: I see now that I tried this exact wine two years ago and didn’t like it at all. I presume the difference is the two years of age and the long decant. Maybe the last bottle was off also, who knows - or I was. Anyway, wow - what a difference! — 4 months ago
Substitute wine for our Piccolomini. Pretty good. — 3 years ago

Drinking in 2024, the 2017 is still young but it's a solid chianti and will age well for another decade or two. Black cherry on the nose with fleshly plum. A tad of blood orange too. A good infusion of sandalwood, subtle spice, and some minerality behind it all. High acidity. Medium to medium+ tannin, but it's integrated pretty well. This has nice length on it. Overall, very nice! — 2 months ago
