Finca Piedra Infinata Paraje Altamira Malbec Blend

This is a young and elegant Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina.

This Single Vineyard is showing nice complexity already, with big tannins on the finish.

Aged in concrete vats with 30% used oak barrels.

Would be nice to revisit it in 7 years.

okay maybe THIS one is the best Malbec I've ever had. Holy cow batman! What a beast.

Interesting, it shows like a Cahors with a lovely violet purple nose and rustic tannin on the palate. It will be interesting to see what age delivers.

Dusty and light. Tannins are there but hidden behind raspberries, ruby fruit, chewy slightly dried notes. Bright at the end with glowing almost ripe fruits.

Intense Malbec. Rich deep dark cherry drenched in french oak, spicy with slight green undertones. Grippy on the finish. Had expected more however as it lacked an evolving complexity and I missed the minerality of the infinitive rock...

Great accompaniment to the ribeye tomahawk served on the porch beneath the Andes

Drank the 2013 vintage in November 2019, wine needs to be decanted for around 1.5 hours before drinking. Its an ok wine but nowhere near the RP97 points it was awarded

Best nose of 3 Malbecs. Violets, flowers. Dark purple magenta color. Long finish. Globs of extraction. Hints of sweetness. 15.4 Abv ! $97 not my style. JL tasting.
