Jan 22nd, 20262018 vintage. A blend of Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (20%), and Cabernet Sauvignon from diverse vineyards in Saint-Emilion and Côtes de Castillon owned by the Perse family. Aged for 15 months in used barrels from Pavie and Monbousquet. A solid,bold wine, ready to drink, with good fruit and some of the chalkiness that I associate with Castillon. Abv. 14,5%.

BDX blend with 65% Merlot, 20% Cab Franc. grippy tannins, and leathery. Fruit quite constrained. Let’s see how this bottle evolves with more air. Upped it to 90 points with two hours of air - tannins mellowed out and cassis and red fruit evolved. Nice.

Blend of 65% Merlot, 20% Cab Franc and rest Cab Sauvignon, deep Ruby color with aromas of dark black fruits, and a herb spice nose. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currant and cherry, with licorice, tobacco and burnt herbs. Fine grainy tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, smoky spice and earthy mineral notes.
