Peculiar. Incredibly acidic - like Barolo but without the tannins (tannin is quite mild). The acidity is felt not on entry but as the wine moves through the palate, at the back of the tongue and roof of the mouth. There is very sour blackberry, crushed cherry and some (misplaced?) green pepper and green peppercorn notes, alongside the acidity which has a white grapefruit edge. Very taught, linear and quite difficult to appreciate beyond that wall of acidity.

Ultimately quite a confusing wine, but I wonder if this just needs a few years laying down to allow the acidity to better integrate. Had improved by the third glass, after three hours of air, with a pleasingly dry finish, but nonetheless I see this as a wine that could improve.

Some funky mushroom and soil aromas prevalent but mostly about the black fruit; fig and anise are there along with dried flowers and a touch of granite. Nice.

Needed to open up a little. Unusual and energetic. Berries and mineral. Yum.

A definite funk and red fruits on the nose, light on the palate but with earthy tannins and a lot of good fruits. Very nice with a light chill on it, paired with a charcuterie board and Concerts on the Square!

Very strong gamey, wet rock/slate, herbaceous dirt. If I had to identify a fruit, I’d say over-ripe strawberries. No harshness on the tongue. Not sure if this was a bad bottle but somehow still drinkable. Not sure if this was a bad bottle but somehow still drinkable. Funky to say the least
