Pretty ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Strong nose of black cherries, sweet raspberries, strawberries, light wood, spices, earth, vegetables, light barnyard and herbs.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with red cherries, strawberries, raspberries, spices, light oak, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with soft tannins and cranberries.

This is a tasty Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley. Showing light elegance, with a soft mouth feel.

Still young and will benefit from a few years in the bottle.

Good right out of the bottle, and shows more complexity after 30 minutes of airtime.

This 3 year old Single Vineyard is fruit forward and tangy. Spicy and entertaining.

Aged in French oak barrels (35% new) for 10 months. Unfiltered and unfined.

I paired it with cheeses and dried meats.

13.7% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

$48.

Founded by McDonald "Don" Blackburn, born in Virginia, studied and worked in Burgundy before returning to America. Production of this wine aimed primarily for the restaurant business, i recently found a bottle on a wine list for half price, wow what a steal. Aromas of sweet berry fruit with spiced notes. The palate shows developed ripe red fruit, oak, spice and mineral notes. Soft tannins, elegantly balanced, vivid acidity, lingering finish ending with mineral notes. Wow!

An interesting and , ‘bramble berry’ -LOADED nose that melts into the wood as it breathes. A luscious and delightful finish.

Light and bright Ruby, lightest CA Pinot, more of an OR color. Tons of fruit and floral aromas that meld well together. Strawberry and cherry on the palate with mild spice wrapped up in a vivid acidity package. Mild soft tannins, elegant style, medium body, lingering ending with a fruity mineral ending. Very nice! Tastes great, but a couple af years could benefit, but hard to resist if you see a bottle on the menu as I did.

Generous fruit conveying a rich and leathery core but with a tiny bit of zing that was nice acid and a hint of something almost effervescent. Perfect with Asian fare @Buddakhan, Chelsea Market.

Mint and smoke and blackberries on the nose, fresh and juicy attack with rich and slightly chewy ripe tannins. #pinotnoir #russianrivervalley #russianriver #oregonwines

Not rating while drinking so doing from memory...still recall this as a very, very good wine, one of the top flight Russian River Pinots. Impressive discovery. Full flavor, aroma, balance, finish and aftertaste...all very fine, would definitely buy again.
