Deep Ruby with concentrated aromas of ripe black fruit with subtle nutty spice & bitter chocolate. A blend of 93% Cab Sauv, 4% Cab Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. The palate offers flavors of dark fruit, sour black cherry & dried blackberries, with a firm touch of oak & leather. Tannins are present, but soft due to the age of the wine. The finish is elegant with a slight dry mineral tang, medium in length. Very Nice. This Napa offering should last a few more years, but why wait, it’s perfect now! Tasting Sample!

Medium mix of ruby and garnet red. A little floral on the nose with some black cherries and berries. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. Great structure on the palate with layers of light blueberries, gravel, dark red fruits and cinnamon. Medium plus length finish. Drink till 2025.

Rich Merlot tasting like a right-bank Bordeaux. A deep, brooding, earthy Merlot. Very good and an excellent value at $30.

Medium ruby, deep fruit, some plum & smoke aromas. Another solid Elyse option

Ruby color with a wide brim and violet accents. An earthy nose starts things off right with some stewed mushrooms, moist soil, and ripe red cherries. This is a pretty big boy for a Merlot and that 14.8 shows up early with a bit of heat but it quickly blows over. Medium to full bodied with nice acidity, there’s not a terrific amount of depth in regards to complexity but you never lose interest in it. This is a Napa Merlot, so of course it’s exceedingly similar to a Cab but that just goes with the territory. Smooth mouthfeel leads to big fruit on the palate. Plums, cherries, and blackberries shine with notes of tobacco, cedar, and minerality. So Cab-like but still a good pour.

A bit thin, smells of licorice and tastes like burnt baking spices and baked fruit. Full bodied but not the most complex wine out there. Baked fruit, light baking spice, no tannins.
