On this Sunday night I have opened the 2013 Elk Cove Willamette Valley Pinot Gris.
On the nose you will get meyer lemon, white peach, cantaloupe, honey, ginger, spice, musk and minerality.
On the palate there is meyer lemon, white peach, ripe tangerine, anise, honey and crushed gravel.
This wine is medium bodied with a viscous mouthfeel and medium +acidity that has a long citrus minerality finish. This is a stellar representation of Pinot Gris from the Willamette Valley. Aromas of apples and stone fruit with just the right amount if acidity and richness to give it am overall excellent depth of character. Elk Cove never disappoints.

Golden hue with delightful floral notes. Honeysuckle, jasmine, elderflower, orange blossom. Bright acidity with tart, dry, well defined flavors echoing the above. Medium + finish. Pairing with my wife's Spicy Thai Shrimp Salad!

Underwhelming after the stellar 2013 vintage. White flowers and hints of roses, round mouthfeel and a touch flat or flabby. Missing that awesome acidity from 2013.
