Solid, classic, smooth, well balanced. Always easy to drink. — 4 days ago

Barolo Nebbiolo 2010

Celebrating 5 years with my bride at our usual spot, Wild Olives in Rosemary Beach.

My exposure to Barolo may be limited but this was easily the best one I’ve ever had. Highly perfumed with rustic cherries, mint sprigs, licorice, menthol, clove, tobacco. Went down the pipe smooth as all get out - so pretty. Paired with elk from Colorado that was killed just one day prior to being served to us.

La Verchere Vieilles Vignes Pouilly-Fuissé Chardonnay 2005

Just concluded our annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.

Nose has bruised yellow apple, cold butter, fresh green herbs and wet oak.
Palate has baked apple, squeeze of lemon juice, lemon zest and round, mild oak influence.
Our final bottle of the 2005, likely one of the best bottles to our memory. This could likely continue to hold a few more years, before noticeably decline.

Willamette Valley Pinot Blanc 2018

Gorgeous straw color. Vibrant fruit on the nose and palate. Let it sit a minute in the glass and it opens into a beautiful glass of wine. Pear, stone fruit, straw. It’s an amazing Pinot Blanc! — 3 months ago

Calafe

Greco di Tufo 2015

Just concluded our annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.

Nose has cold honey, delicate white flowers, moist sand, green melon and fresh hay.
Palate has green melon, lime zest, lemon juice (light), dilute honey and green table grapes.
Loving this nose, more expressive than most of my prior Greco do Tufo experiences, but this also has less bottle age than I generally drink this varietal.

Although we did see the Maine giraffe (moose) on our drive out Saturday morning, only about 1/4 mile from the cabin.

Champ Gain Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2005

Just concluded our annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.

Nose has stuck match, fresh cut yellow apple, cold pineapple, crushed granite, cold mango and dried oak plank.
Palate has semi-dried lemon, baked yellow apple, limestone infused mineral water, lemon pith with a medium-short finish.
Lacking some concentration, but still enjoyable, likely this might have been in peak form 4-5 years ago.

Thanks @Tom Casagrande I wish I could afford to spend more time away from my office, is really like 2 weeks up here, just like my summers as a kid.

Nose has cedar box, ripe black cherry, wet soil, prune and decaying leaves.
Palate has dried cherry, dried blackberry, ripe cherry, wet leather with some grip of tannins lingering.
Just a delightful village-level bottle from a storied production team.
