So damn good for the money. Green apples, limestone, light acidity. This 2017 is spot on!

One of OR oldest wine producers, founded by Pat & Joe Campbell in 1974. Name ‘Elk Cove’ derived from Roosevelt Elk which roamed nearby. 1st 100% estate grown fruit, whole-cluster pressed, cool temp fermented in small stainless tanks preserving aromatic freshness of stone fruits and gentle spiciness. On the palate peach, pear and honey flavors with a touch of sweetness. Medium finish, vivid acidity with rich ending. Drinking well now but cellar a bit. Nice value.

A lot going on for a Pinot gris. Lots of green apple. But also melon which is unexpected. Awesome minerality and great acidity. Paired well with our mushroom risotto from the farm box.

I’ve had this off & on for probably 20 yrs or so and it is so consistent & great value. Voluptuous & Alsatian in style, this vintage is silky & sexy w/generous sweet ripe citrus aromas - ft. lemon chiffon, Bosc pear, jasmine & honeysuckle, apple and a slender slice of stone. Integrated acidity and seamless this was fun w/Vietnamese vermicelli.
