Ehlers Estate
Sylviane St. Helena Cabernet Franc Rosé
Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again.
(Notes this year were avoided, but scores are honest.)

Nose has delicate maraschino cherry, fresh green herbs (sage), dry soil and faint vanilla.
Palate has dusty cherry/raspberry, (light) dried orange peel, watermelon rind with some drying mineral notes to the long finish.
Years of patience have served this bottle well. Still youthful and lively, but more expressive than our last experience. One bottle remaining in the cellar... I'll see how long we can manage to overlook it, but nothing more fine than Cabernet Franc rosé!

Cherry, cranberry, raspberry, watermelon, lemon and hints of rose petal. Great acidity and balance.

Apr 9th, 2020Holy this shouldn’t be allowed to be so yum batwoman. Fruit forward vanilla backward with something that hints at green herbs or a juniper blossom if that exists. Solid work Ehlers! I should have gotten more. @Severn Goodwin saw you weren’t as into the earlier vintage of this but this is one of the first from Laura, the new winemaker there! It’s actually more cab s than cab f

May 7th, 2017Cranberry Jolly Ranchers, but not as sweet. Hey, it works. Mouth-watering acid, crisp and clean. Much lighter than it looks. Quaff away!

Mar 15th, 2017Rosé, you say? Looks like it might be heavy, overripe, possible rich and dull. Au contraire. Light, bright, and full of zip. Wish it was 20 degrees warmer out and sunny. Glad I've got a few more.
