Another Wednesday Wine Committee for the books, this one in honor of a former WWC member, with the wines donates from his cellar by his family. A wonderful tribute. Wines tasted blind as usual.
Shame on me for missing this. As soon as I tasted it I said “I’ve had this before” but couldn’t place it correctly. I guessed Alsatian Riesling, but after time in the glass, there was no doubt this was Viognier. Floral, low acidity, mint, and a quick peach finish.

A French white at the top of its game. An explosion of exotic fruit seize the senses. Starts sweet on the mid-palate, with notes of pineapple, kiwi fruit and almonds. Finishes with salinity and gravitas. Looking forward to seeing how this evolves with bottle age.
Even wifey gave it a thumbs up!

Weekly Wednesday wine committee. This week we had 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 3 reds, 1 dessert. All tasted blind as normal.
My first guess here was Viognier...should have stuck with it! I ended up guessing gruner-veltliner due to the pepper on the finish. Lots of white flower and beautiful aromatics here.

This 2015 vintage #condrieu was better than others I’ve tasted from #guigal I’d recommend it highly. It has so much typicity for what I consider the grape #viognier
