Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Needed time to open.

Dark ruby. Opaque. Notes of dark plums, cassis, rhubarb, tobacco. Has a green element to it. At first it’s very linear and one dimensional in the mouth but rounds out with air. Nice for the vintage.

Wish more California cabernet drank like this - currant, candied blackberry, dark cherry, flint and tobacco. Was flashy but balanced.

WOW. You’d swear this was French on the nose Sweaty horse and musty notes dominate with black fruits. Decent acid but a little limp on the mouth.

From magnum classic Napa Cabernet that doesn’t quite have the depth to be great but very good.

Classic, rustic, red fruit, claret.

Old school, very given that night, no tannic harshness

Genius.

Impressive wine. Dense rich iodine quality. In my book the tannins are resolved but it may have a few years left in it. This is the best of California akin to Diamond Creek.
