Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

First time having this. Not at all what I reach for but not as bad as I assumed it would be. Pushy alcohol.

Blend of 80% Merlot, 17% Cab Sauv, 2% Cab Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with aromas of rich berry fruit and earthy spice tones. On the palate flavors of rich blackberry and black cherry with sweet spice, licorice and cacao notes. Fine tannins, long finish ending with oak and mineral character. Good to drink now, will age some.

Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, herbs and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry, raspberry and black currant with espresso, cacao, cedar and earthy spice notes. Well balanced, lively acidity, fine tannins long ending with fruit and toasty tobacco spice! Nice!

Tasting of nine 1996 Cabernets, Merlots and Bordeaux blends from California, Bordeaux and Australia. This split the group because of the hint of (in my opinion, “good”) bret.

Green olives, mineral, dried cherries.

Orange juicy acid , maybe it didn’t age well....

Short

Cherry, currant, maple, smoke, loamy earth and oak. Great structure and soft tannins.

1 - 12oz NY Strip and a bottle of this! Boom.
