Donnafugata
Mille e Una Notte Nero d'Avola

Vintage 2020 | 12 m barrel aging, nero d’avola, syrah and petit verdot. Cedar, brushwood, sour plum, much character but to my taste a bit rough. I prefer Tancredi.

Disappointing
Specially in relation to the price
This is the first important label from donnafugata, first release dates back to the 80s i reckon
It falls short, it isn't bad,but i reckon this would be in a wine shop 180/200 dollars
It must be better

Cherry, raspberry preserves, currant, stewed fruit, mossy earth and oak. Full-bodied and soft tannins.

This 2015 is juicy and spicy. Good mouth-feel. Enjoyable in a hedonistic way.

Dark, spicy, rounded and rich. Plums, blackberries, vanilla and cloves. Sustains long. Impactful wine.

From magnum. The Flagship Red from Donnafugata. 90% Nero d’Avola; 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Syrah. Lovely wine but very New World and modern with loads of quality French new oak. Blackberry fruit. Could have been s high quality Barossa Shiraz except the Nero d’Avola turns it into s medium bodied not full bodied wine. Would like to see it in 5+ years when the oak may have settled down.

Strikingly big and bold, this wine is a massive wad of flavor, tannin and refreshment that needs a substantial & meaty meal as an accompaniment. Love the roasted blackberry flavors saturated with steeped Pu-erh tea.
