Domaine Terlato & Chapoutier
Victoria Shiraz Viognier
Had another bottle. Deep inky purple. Aromas of pronounced ripe dark fruit. On the palate fruit forward flavors plum and ripe dark berry with black pepper spice. Medium finish, fine tannins ending with cacao and pepper spices, slight presence of alcohol.

Nov 13th, 2018My first Shiraz + Viognier. I was hoping that some of the Viognier qualities would come through more but there were leather, cocoa, and spice elements from the Shiraz that overpowered the blend.

Aug 19th, 2018I just picked this Shiraz/Viognier up and paid $16.99 for the bottle. This is a joint venture between Anthony Terlato and Michel Chapoutier out of Victoria Australia. The combination of Shiraz and Viognier is very intriguing to me and I picked this up given the names associated with the wine, well that is as far as that goes. On the nose I get bright fruit of red plum, blueberry, herbs and black pepper. On the palate there is plum, red & black cherry, spice, black pepper with a touch of tangerine and honey and a mint finish. Not a very complex wine, starts of good but loses something through the mid palate then really falls of quick. An easy drinking wine for as young as it is.

1 person found it helpfulJul 9th, 2015Pretty perfumed nose of dark berries, black pepper, fresh flowers and a contrasting sweaty saddle note. Palate leans to the lighter side of medium bodied, with easygoing tannins. More red fruit on palate. Clear ripe strawberry, floral and even a peachy stone fruit at the end. Very pleasant and approachable and tasty. Not your typical over the top shiraz.
