A monster bottle - earth driven with stewed dark fruits and savory herbs and cracked black pepper - MC took his prowess to Australia and succeeded

Dead ringer for a northern Rhone Syrah. Maybe Cornas. Huge, but it carries itself with a delicate step. Saturated in white pepper. Big mineral driven acid cleansed finish.

Quality for price is not found here. That doesn't make it a bad wine, just over priced at $60. Raspberry and spice with floral notes on the nose. Tart red fruit and peppery tannins on the palate. I did enjoy this wine... If it was $35.

Limited nose. Tar to finish. Not pleasant.

Gorgeous. Dark crushed fruit and oak on the nose; herbs, licorice, blackberry on the palate.

Strange nose! After air you get more; pepper, jodium, burnt rubber, earth and some fruit. Next time a couple of hours decant🤔

Beautiful acidity, pepper, black cherry, muscular.

Not bad, but I expected more for the price. Odd combination of French red austerity and Australian Shiraz.

Reading reviews of other vintages I am sad to say it doesn't align. Perhaps we opened a couple years too early but it is flat and unimpressive. No spice or jam as other reviews state. Sorely disappointed. I would have almost called it a pinotage versus a Shiraz if I didn't see the label. Glad it was in a mystery case and not super pricey.

Northern Rhone style done in the Pyrenes of Australia. Full and rich but with elegance. Dark berries, leather and pepper. Nice length.
