My favorite Gigondas in the world. From 110 year old vines and a sick old school estate. Sick nose. Super sick nose. Herbs, cherry liquer, blackberry, so many herbs, insane depth and layering, loam, mineral, just sick. So so good. In a great place. Palate is a dream. So creamy and resolved with super melty tannins. Such freshness and depth. Creamy, stoney with so much old vine Grenache fruit. So long. Inner mouth aromas so good. So precise. Just sick. Super stoney finish. The fruit is black raspberry, cassis, so much and so focused.

Drinking well. Lots of dark fruit (blue, purple red), a little hot and dumb. Excellent in glass and in value.

Floral nose. Dark garnet color (but not inky). Meat and fruit on palate. Structure evident. Not sanguine on longevity of southern Rhone wines anymore. Would think this is in the zone now to 2020, but I don't know anything about wine. Maybe it goes the distance

It's been a while. My fave Gigondas and only one I sell. 100+ year old vines. 1,000 bottles. The nose is developing some secondary finally. Always cool when that happens. Sick nose of place and herbs. Also mint and menthol. Some faint liquer and beautiful earthiness. This really smells like it comes from Gigondas. Stunning nose that changes constantly. Wafting with all the goodness of the southern Rhone. Palate is juicy, crazy Stoney, herbal, concentrated and in need of air. Good tannins and dark fruit. Closed for now but once it integrates over next few hours this will rock like it usually does.

Very complex and intense. Nose has deep blackberry, intensely stoney, gravelly minerality, bloody beef, new leather, and some Indian spices. A compact Mike Tyson uppercut to the palate. Deeply fruity but not in a jammy way, with moathcoating minerality, huge body, but a velvety texture. Exceptional. Will get even better over the next 5 years. Was great with mesquite grilled lamb chops.

UPDATE: After two nights under a VacuVin closure, nose still complex and inviting, and on the palate much more clingy, dark, iodiney minerality showing. What a wine!

2nd vintage ever. Good complexity. 100% Grenache. Meaty, smoked bacon, herbed, red fruit. Zero destemmed. Powerful, grippy, tannic, and very structured. Light acetone notes. Hot wine. Great nose, acceptable palate (now)

Whoa. Pop and pour. On the nose:.intense black cherry, loads of garrigue and dried herbs, a touch of bacon fat, incense, blackberry cola, heady, but so aromatically complex and utterly enticing. On the palate, good acidity, black cherry, cola, herbs with a suggestion of the medicinal, very sweet blackberry...surprisingly light on its feet, then a soft, enveloping wave of palate coating, velvety tannin. There is perhaps a touch of alcoholic heat on the nose that betrays the 15% ABV this has, but that might just be the power of suggestion. Absolutely perfect for my mood tonight.
