Clos des Bouchères Monopole Meursault 1er Cru Chardonnay

So pretty and lifted on the nose- rockpools, delicate lemon, white flowers. On the palate very transparent. Sweetness on the edges. Lovely balance and length. Classic, classy roulot. Gorgeous.

Mineral, lithe with a subterranean butterscotch riff setting my head adrift with dreams of Chardonnay perfection.

Lovely fruit

Intrigued by the combination of reduction, white stone fruit, citrus blossom, and flint. Well done.

The nose was stunning, showing wet slate, flint, smoke, and minerals up front with peach skin and hints of lemon zest. On the palate, it was still youthfully tight with a near perfect translation of rock and earth from nose to palate, along with saline-minerality and green apple. It finished long, spicy and with a zing of vibrant acidity.

Took a while to unwind, only to show that it's a long way from revealing everything yet. A high wire act of precise fruit, mineral structure and shocking acidity. This was awesome now, but goodness, in a couple years...
