Domaine Ponsot
Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Pinot Noir
Pnp perfection with a captivating and explosive layered bouquet of candied red cherries, rose petals, coffee beans and exotic spices. The palate is luxuriously silky with obvious grand cru weight and intensity and there is stunning purity and elegance to balance such power and exhilarating energy. An incredible combination. Its spice and mineral laced finale just keeps on going. One of the best CDLR’s in the biz was perfect tonight.

Oct 7th, 2023My last bottle. Meaty, fat bacon and cherries. Very elegant with multiple layers. Full bodied. Has many years left.

May 10th, 2021Last year Ponsot used natural cork. The wine absolutely spectacular, still all fruit fwd, mostly cherries, satiny, super long finish. Can go another 10 to 15 years maybe longer. How good can Pinot be ?? From a case of 2007 Ponsot’s grand cru’s just released from the domaine.

Sep 1st, 2020Sappy, exuberant cherry fruit with underlying forest notes. Still bright and young with spice, and gorgeous clarity. This is all kinds of approachable but really classy and exciting. What a wine. Obviously this could do with time, but like many 07’s, it’s great now.
